Product Introduction

Shandong Zhongxing Metal Steel Grit is an angular metallic abrasive designed for shot blasting, surface preparation, rust removal, descaling and coating pretreatment. With sharp edges, stable hardness and strong cutting performance, steel grit can create a clean and rough anchor profile to improve coating adhesion on metal surfaces. It is widely used in steel structures, shipyards, foundries, bridge construction, steel plate processing, pipeline surface preparation and metal fabrication industries.

Manufacturing Process

Steel grit is produced by melting high-quality steel, atomizing it into steel shot, crushing the shot into angular particles, and then screening and heat-treating the material according to required hardness and size.

During production, the steel grit is classified by sieve analysis and inspected for chemical composition, hardness, density and particle size distribution. This helps ensure stable cutting performance and consistent surface roughness during blasting.

Advantages

Zhongxing steel grit provides strong cutting power, high cleaning efficiency and good recyclability. Its angular shape helps quickly remove scale, rust, old coating and surface contamination.

The product is suitable for applications requiring higher surface roughness before painting, spraying, coating or bonding. Stable hardness and particle distribution help customers maintain consistent blasting results and reduce process variation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Steel Grit used for?

Steel Grit is mainly used for aggressive surface preparation, rust removal, scale removal and coating pretreatment. Its angular shape and sharp cutting edges can create a clean and rough anchor profile on metal surfaces, helping improve coating adhesion before painting, powder coating or anti-corrosion coating.

Steel grit is widely used in steel structures, shipyards, bridges, pipelines, thick steel plates, castings, forgings, machinery parts and metal fabrication industries where strong cleaning performance and controlled surface roughness are required.

What is the difference between Steel Grit and Steel Shot?

Steel Grit has an angular shape and provides a stronger cutting effect, making it suitable for rust removal, descaling and creating a rough surface profile for coating adhesion. Steel Shot is spherical and mainly used for cleaning, desanding, descaling and producing a smoother surface finish.
